Another Year, Another Trajedy

I am so glad to be home for the first time in a while but I can't help but feeling like I'm doing nothing. I have so many things to so yet they seem to be taking care of themselves at the moment. It's not like I want the work but I do like feeling like I am doing something. While I figure it out to give a future post I am thinking to update the design of the blog. It's a new era, a new moment in my life and I think that the upgrade is completely needed. So stick around to see what happens to the blog and it's contents too. I'll be back soon when I figure out what I'm doing with my life.

Somehow This Idea Gets Worse Everyday (Local Time 12:30 PM)

I don't even know why we're still here. If it was up to me we should have left ages ago (or even better, have a party indoors!) but we still are having problems with the insane weather so most people are probably either sick or on their way to become sick. Well that's just what we need for when we finish. The good thing is that there is only the ceremony left and the ball so that we can get home as soon as possible. I lost count how many times we've had to save someone from hypothermia today so I can't say I'll really miss this place when I leave. Anyway, it's fun talking for right now and I'll be sure to blog again later (if I'm not rushing people to a clinic that is).

Mundane Rant (Local Time 12:51 PM)

I'm not going to spoil the results but that was a really good game. If you didn't watch it then you missed out. Anyway I just wanted to say that it's time for party number two to start so I am going to be heading out. I know you guys just love my mundane rants about nothing but that's what blogs are for.

Party Of The Day? Check. (Local Time 5:12 AM)

I just got back from one party to get ready for another one. I don't think it's even useful trying to get warm because I'm just going to go back out there. I do have a couple hours so I am going to try to get through some emails and stuff. I think the theme of this party is arctic coats since that's what everyone seems to be wearing. It's not as cold once everyone starts moving around and dancing but just thinking about it makes me shiver. Well that's my post of the day and I'll see if anything interesting happens that I can talk about tomorrow. It turns out the game that I wanted to watch is on at 10:30 (local time) so I guess I will get to watch the game in five hours to see if Manchester United can beat Manchester City. I totally hope so.

Who Decided This Would Be A Good Idea? (Local Time 7:37 PM)

Okay so I'm posting this quickly from my phone because I am at the party but I just have to say that this was a really bad idea. Whoever was on the commission is not very nice to us because this is an iceberg, which is not the prime location for a party besides the fact that no one will bother us (probably from fear of hypothermia). So as much as I like parties this is ridiculous!

Warmth Where Have You Been? (Local Time 1:43 AM)

Well it seems that I am finally out of the cold and in a hotel. The people here are really nice but I can't help but think that they're a little crazy since they actually live here. They are also really excited to see that there are so many people visiting. Well I guess I can't completely hate this place then. I am totally trying to keep up my blogging like I used to do. Can you tell? I hope so. I've already started to get all the messages that I used to which is awesome. I'll read those as soon as I can but right now some rest and party preparing! I will most likely not post again until tomorrow since I will be busy.

I'm Leaving! (Local Time 12:54 AM)

After some fighting to get out of this chair, I think I can finally move again. As much as I hate how things have turned out, things must go on. After four hours we still have not had everyone come in yet so this is still going to to be the delay. It's funny because we haven't had to use delay time in years so this is yet another first. Since we do have five official tournament days I guess we have to make use of them. The parties were scheduled for later tonight anyway so anyone who still hasn't made their way out will have less time to rest. I am totally hoping to be around later so this is just a quick update as I am getting ready to leave this place. Can you believe that it's about 20 degrees? Crazy, I know. I really want to go home now, I heard there was a game going on tomorrow (today whatever) so I really want to watch it. I guess it all depends what time it's at because it could potentially be between parties.

It's Not The Brightest Day (Local Time 12:21 AM)

I finally got through the tournament and even through the brutal obstacles (seriously, who came up with some of this stuff?) were horrible at least I am out alive. Nicole and I are happy to be of service to everyone and we hope that this will be another great year for the UACA. I can't believe the amount of bad things that have happened throughout the tournament and as much as I would like to do something about it I can't and we can only hope that people will understand the risks in our jobs.

As we go into this new day and another year for the UACA, I would like to take this moment to remember those who will not get to see the light of day. They were brave, and even knowing that there was no guarantee that any of us would come out alive they ventured into the unknown. While we never want these things to happen as they hurt us more deeply then our external battles we have to understand that everyone has a purpose and they had finally completed theirs.

I do not know much about Jack, I don't even know where he is from but I know that as a young man he has shown us what bravery is. Even while he seemed unlikely to move, he desperately kept going through all his suffering, only to endure more before his passing. I can say that he will definitely be remembered as a person who never gave up, even when the circumstances were completely impossible.

As for Frauke, I am sad to know that I will never get to know more of her. In the last year we ran the UACA to be as successful as ever and even though I was not around for a lot of the in house meetings, I was always confident that she would take care of things. I definitely regret not being able to enjoy her sense of humor that everyone always talked about and I wish that I was around to see all of the great things that she has done. Even so, her legacy will live on and we will remember her as a great leader.

I would like to thank everyone who competed and even the ones who created this year's course. You've certainly shown all of us an important life lesson. We will be waiting for the rest of the people to join us today so that we can plan a finishing celebration. I am not sure about anything regarding what is going to happen with these two great individuals but I will be sure to convey any news.

Tournament Update (Local Time 11:48 PM)

This is the last update that I am doing this year for the tournament. Following the unpleasant events Laura and Nicole seemed virtually unstoppable as they made it through the finish line uncontested. While it was a victory to Laura, she seems extremely distressed which no doubt comes from the amount of injuries sustained. This has been a really challenging tournament so I will leave the posting back to Laura as soon as she feels up to it. I hope to be able to record next year's tournament as well.

Tournament Update (Local Time 10:28 PM)

The tournament has claimed another victim, this time reigning TGP Frauke Dittmar. Condolences go out to her family especially her sister who was watching. We have to always remember that we can not be reckless because dangers are everywhere. It seems that this tournament just had to be filled with casualties and injuries because in the last couple of hours the amount of forfeiting has grown considerably. Hopefully we hear no more bad news as the tournament draws to a close.

Tournament Update (Local Time 6:08 PM)

It looks like the lines are even more distinguished now as there are only a couple people that could be considered ahead while most are stuck somewhere in the middle of the second and third marker. I just received word that there are three people in the very front although their position is only relative to what obstacles are ahead. It is Laura, Nicole and Frauke still, so it looks like they are going to have to fight it out. Laura seems to be in a bad condition though according to reports so hopefully that won't hurt her chances as there is only the last quarter to make it out.

Tournament Update (Local Time 11:21 AM)

It appears to be the halfway point of this tournament. Things have slowed down considerably and no we are way behind the boy's time. Not that it matters because the most challenging part of the course is ahead and we can probably expect to be here until past midnight for a winner as the pace is now. We have confirmed sightings of Laura as well as the current TGP, Frauke in the lead. There are two others off in another area but tied in the front as well who we can not identify at this time. The third area is better for the view so we will probably have a better idea who is in the lead in a couple hours.

Tournament Update (Local Time 5:10 AM)

One of Laura's helpers is telling me that there's a group of stragglers that have finally made it past the quarter marker. Since the slope to watch the tournament is very bad, it's almost impossible to see who people are on the ground. It doesn't help that everyone wears the same outfit when competing. Still it seems that we are a little behind the men so far but it doesn't mean that we still can't beat them. There seems to be defined gaps between the front runners, the middle and the back of the group. This will be interesting if things change throughout the course of the tournament.

The race has officially started and it looks like everyone is off to a good start. There are no girls that are too far ahead or behind though so at this moment I am going to say that everything is a tie. Just as a side note, has anyone used the new form of blogger? It is really strange to fix the settings so that I can put labels in the posts.

Tournament Update (Local Time 11:47 AM)

I've been told to keep up with the details of the tournament while Laura's gone and so I'm going to say that everyone has lined up and they get to see how big this area is going to be. It is about thirty miles long but the difficulty of the trek is what makes everyone take a very long time. Just in commentary, it looks that Laura is really worn out, there's a lot of people here rooting for her though so hopefully she'll be able to pull off a win. That's all I have to say for now but stayed tune.

Alright, so I'm going to be off now. All things considered I think I will have done better than ever as long as I make it ten feet into the tournament. At least Lucian is here with me instead of acting as another obsticle like last year. Jen should be posting the first update in a couple minutes. Besides that, I hope this tournament will be awesome and that I live through to see it.

If Nicole and I can win the tournament then we will have the old gang back together (mostly). And We're Marching... (Local Time 4:53 PM)

Well I don't have a clue how long or difficult this thing is but apparently a lot of things have happened in this part of the race. It's been many hours since my last post but that's because I was waiting for someone to cross the last quarter marker. In the meantime I can report a fatality and some severe injuries. That has me curious since it doesn't happen very often. I'll try to figure out what has happened.

Also, while we usually reserve the start of the girl's tournament until the guys are finished we have decided to start the tournament at midnight this year, just like in the earlier tournaments. Mostly because it seems that the boys are taking too long but we all liked it anyway. So regardless of what happens we start the tournament at midnight and hope there are no stragglers by the time we get there.

For the sake of information I regret to inform that Jack Andrew Dixon was the one who died in this tournament.

Half Way! (Local Time 9:24 AM)

Things apparently slowed down but there seems to be three guys that are tied in getting through the half marker, I don't have all three names yet but I know that Alex is one of them. It would be nice to see him up in the ranks again. I don't know where Keith is or if he's up in the front since no one can get a decent look at the location but we'll find our soon enough.

Finally Some News (Local Time 4:26 AM)

I wish they had said something a little earlier so that I could post at 3:37 (yes I still love that time) but any news is good at this point. I just received word from my first contact that the first person made it through the first quarter marker. That's really unsettling since everyone was saying that this was going to be the easiest tournament in years. I honestly expected this news two hours ago but I'm secretly glad that the tournament is going to be this long. Well maybe not because that could mean we are going to be here for a while.

In other news, I have lined up a couple of people to take over the blog when I am competing but I'm still not sure who I'm going to pick. I might just go with Jen again since she did it last year (although if it's only going to be posts with this much detail then anyone can do it). Anyway, I'll get it settled soon. It's not like I have too much to do in the next (at least) ten hours.

The Beginning (Local Time 12:00 AM)

Well the whistle just blew and the clock just struck so let's see how this year's tournament goes. So far I see everyone sprint into a free for all. That's all I can say for now so I'll update if there's anything interesting that people report from further down the sidelines.

300th Post!!! (Local Time 11:50 PM)

As much as I have been absent and it took me nearly two years to get the next one hundred after my 200th post, I've finally done it. I hope to have the 400th post much sooner but we'll see what happens.

Anyway, the point of this post was to say that they just called all the guys to line up and you can already hear the cheers as they begin to unveil this year's tournament. So exciting!

Pre-Tournament (10:36 PM)

I'm going to do this the old fashioned way and mention the current time in the post so that nobody gets confused. Anyway I'm out here and most of the contestants and a lot of spectators have already shown up with many of the other contestants on the way. We're about an hour and a half from the official start and letting the guys compete. As for me personally I hope Keith wins again since he is always so helpful. Still I can't say any other people don't appeal to me. Everyone knows how the drill goes so no reason to go that into it but say that as the clock hits midnight then the guys will take off.

In the meantime, I am going to be resting up and hanging out with the crazies that decided to come over and watch me compete. Nicole who recently came back from her honeymoon (did I mention she got married?) is excited to win. I can't wait to see how the tournament is going to be when it is unveiled (even though I have to wait until I actually compete to find out) and I'm more excited to be doing something semi normal for once.

The Longest Summary You Will Ever Have To Read From Me

As promised I finally managed to get through (mostly) writing the events of this last year. While it is not complete I figured this was enough to keep things going as we move on to the tournament. If you were expecting a full summary with a lot of details just look down and be grateful this is the short version of my story.

Okay, the last year has been complete chaos but since the last time I posted was in October I'll start there. The tournament ended and I returned home. I had finally gotten rid of the Lucian threat and he was even back at my side. I moved on to take leadership of the council on my birthday and that's where the real trouble started. While I know that there are people who were never fond of me or of women in general taking this position I wasn't prepared to see the amount of craziness that followed. It took a couple of weeks in arguments and the promise that although Giovanni had stepped down, he would remain as a chairman of the council board. Following my new promotion I took to heading all the problems that have come since then.

I've also had to deal with a couple of other guys who decided to make life difficult after Lucian. A proxy that apparently had a grudge against me but was really after Jareth came to kidnap me in late March. I had seen and had encounters with him before but the kidnapping was the main event. He was a real challenge to deal with seeing as he had no conscious and was indescribably evil with his torture methods. Even after a couple days of searching I could not be found but I found refuge in another fellow prisoner (Jason) that was turned into Bennett's (psycho killer) pet. After too much time had passed (in my world since it was only a couple days) I was finally rescued after Jason managed to contact Jareth. Staying at the hospital that my cousin so excitedly built I managed to recover somewhat from the experience and introduce a new member to my family.

Well more like two because Jason got well enough and I invited him to stay with us in hopes that it would do both of us good. While I was trying to escape the hospital setting I managed to wander into the children's area where a little baby girl was crying. Reaching into my maternal instincts I picked her up and quieted her before finding out that she was a recent orphan, the survivor of a car crash where her parents died. Having just gotten out of the kidnapping I couldn't bear to see her anywhere else but with me so I ended up adopting her.

Anyway, getting past my moment of weakness for children, I discovered the truth behind why Bennett was really after me. It seemed that he was hired by yet another guy with a grudge that I definitely knew very well. His name is James and he was an ex-boyfriend that I had escaped because he was becoming abusive towards me in the past. Apparently he couldn't get over the fact that I left him and he decided to make my life impossible. After several months of going back and forth I discovered another truth and I managed to let him come back into my life with little resistance.

That truth also sparked a new reality that I couldn't believe. This complicated everything and turned my entire life into a new puzzle of what was a lie and what was not. According to James and a (at the time) recently discovered picture of me and Lucian from the past, I was engaged to be married to Lucian long before anyone else stepped into the picture. A conspiracy happened between James and a couple of other people (later to be revealed) to get me away from Lucian and therefore make me go to James. This conspiracy involved breaking us up to the point where we completely forgot about each other. Later James made the mistake of getting Bennett to frame Lucian's brother and getting me and Jareth to have to kill him (although that's still not exactly what happened either) which effectively brought Lucian back. Since I am now married to Jareth, I guess I just had the good luck to escape the plan although it did put my relationships with the other two in an odd place.

As much as that affected everything I still wanted to get over things and so I had gotten together with more friends of mine from Oxford and I forgave Lucian and James for attempting to kill me. This is when a new person (Morgan) decided to make an appearance and interfere with my overall plan by reviling that he was a helper of Jame's plan and now he wanted to get back at all of us for killing Lucian's brother who was his best friend. He was probably the worst of my enemies at the moment since he had the uncanny ability to work under the radar. This effectively led to my second kidnapping in which he felt so in control that he allowed me to have free reign. Oddly, while this encounter should have ended in death for both of us, we both managed to live to fight another day.

With the massive lapse of security I decided that I was no longer safe in my home so I moved on to stay at an apartment that I owned along with my colleagues who hadn't left and took an extended vacation from work in order to help me out. I have been living there ever since although once I caught up to Morgan once more he had a helper who just seemed to be in for changing the world, giving him an excuse to kill me I guess. After finding that they were just trying to get things done I tended to stay away from their work and just hope they wouldn't kill me soon.

Apart from that I was attacked once more. Although I thought at the time that it was Morgan's doing I realized that this was a completely different person once they had gotten through with me. I don't have a clue how I managed to survive but I guess that it's good that I did since they were not planning on completely kill me but apparently they went overboard on their idea. I still haven't done anything with this person but their name and motive I can not release at this moment so I hope that I live though this to tell everyone about it.

In a slightly irrelevant event I've had a guy who claims to be a game master challenge me to the ultimate game. I accepted and I play it from time to time when he calls or leaves messages. It's not a real threat to my life but I guess you can say that the games are dangerous. It's also pretty exciting so I'll see how this whole thing is meant to close so I can get back to you and say I beat him. Well at least I hope to do so because if I can't win a simple game than I have real issues.

Now for the completely unrelated events that have happened, I finally graduated high school and moved on to go back to college. I had a pretty good summer considering all the crazy stuff that has happened and I started writing a new book. I don't know what else really happened apart from all the craziness that goes along with the random guys and one more guy who I have absolutely no clue what he wanted in the first place. I guess that he just wanted a chance to say he met me.

That brings this story back to present time as I just got slightly better from a recent attack on my person from my latest enemy. I tried to recover on the plane to Greenland but I am not 100%. It's very late here and according to my sources I am probably going to have to head out to the site within the next hour so that I can cover the tournament. I really should get someone else to write for me but I'll settle for just having someone take over while I'm competing. Once again, if you're competing in the tournament I wish you good luck and if you're going against me then I feel sorry for you.

This has been a really long post and I'm not sure I did a good job explaining but it gives an idea on how crazy me year has been. I guess for now I just have to make more continuing posts. I'll get started today and make sure to check in. Then again, how many times have I made that promise? At least I haven't completely abandoned it. Anyway, I'll actually try this time so I don't have to write such long posts in the future but now I have to go. I'll be back in time to write about the start and cover the tournament from there.

Greetings From Nuuk

Ok, yes I know it's been almost a month and I still had yet to get back to you. Well the good news is that I'm going to be on here all day today and for the next couple of days. Tonight is the official start of the tournament and I'm here in the frosty capital of Nuuk, Greenland where this year's tournament will take place. It is very cloudy right now and people say that there's going to be rain and snow within the hour so it'll be interesting to see how that affects our competitors.

To be honest, I am not feeling as well as I would like and the weather is all but killing here but we'll see what happens. In the meantime I am going to try to catch up on much needed blogging. I promised a summary so you'll get that and as always you can expect my coverage of the tournament in the next few days. I leave this for you now and I'll get back to you as soon as my summary post is done.
